OS&Y gate valves, also known as outside screw and yoke valves, are manually operated shut-off valves used to start or stop fluid flow in pipelines transporting liquids, gases, and steam. They feature a rising steel stem threaded externally to mesh with the handwheel and yolk assembly allowing operators to open and close the valve.
