The wedge disc features a vulcanized rubber coating that provides a tight seal when the valve is closed. The disc is guided into the resilient rubber seat to create a compression seal without leaking.
Description
The body and bonnet of the gate valve are constructed from high-strength gray cast iron per ASTM A126 Class B. This provides excellent durability and pressure containment The interior fluid flow way is full-ported for non-clogging operation. The wedge disc is also cast iron, with a resilient rubber coating vulcanized onto the seating surface. This rubber coating seals against the replaceable rubber seat in the body for drip-tight shutoff when closed. The disc is guided vertically into the seat to create a compression seal without leakage.
