Cast iron gate valve
Cast iron gate valves provide reliable performance across a wide range of pressures, temperatures, and liquids. The cast iron body and bonnet provide strength and pressure retention. Common gate valve types include solid wedge, flexible wedge, knife gater and double disc designs. Sizes range from 2-48 inches or larger.
Description
Cast iron gate valves are a type of linear motion valve used to isolate or regulate flow in industrial piping systems. The name “gate valve” comes from the gate-like sliding wedge that controls fluid flow through the valve body.
The cast iron body and bonnet provide durability and pressure retention. When open, gate valves have an unrestricted, full- bore passageway Closing the valve fully obstructs flow for isolation or maintenance. Gate valves are not suitable for throttling or frequent operation.
